apresentação
P2P & INOVAÇÃO Journal opens the publication of its first issue in 2024, which marks a profound change in its editorial policy. Firstly, the journal will be published in partnership between the research group Collaborative Economies and P2P Production in Brazil of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology - IBICT and NetLab.UFRJ - Laboratory of Internet Studies and Social Networks of School of Communication at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
The two Research Groups bring together researchers from all areas of social sciences interested in discussing digital technologies, innovations and social changes. The journal now has two editors: researcher Clóvis Ricardo Montenegro de Lima, from IBICT, and professor Rose Marie Santini, from UFRJ, and has also changed the composition of its Editorial Committee, which reflects these new times. The reorganization of the Committee establishes interactions and connections with researchers from a wide and diverse network of Brazilian and international institutions.
The Journal is now called P2P & INOVAÇÃO - Information and Digital Platforms (P2P & I2PD), and will be published continuously, with submissions always open. After the article is evaluated and accepted, it is reviewed, edited and published.
The journal's mission is to offer a space for the presentation of experiences, reflection and debate on the process of production, dissemination and use of information in peer-to-peer networks, information management and governance on digital platforms, especially with a view to technological innovations. and its impacts in the environmental, cultural, political and economic spheres. Furthermore, the journal is open to innovative themes and theoretical and methodological approaches to digital technologies and their social, economic and environmental consequences.
P2P & I2PD's editorial vision draws on innovative practices and cutting-edge international research and publications to outline an emerging field of study in the social sciences that is expected to grow reflexively as technologies and society evolve.
P2P & I2PD publishes original research in all areas of social sciences that interact with digital issues. Social sciences are thus broadly defined to include, among others, information, communication, sociology, data science, computing, artificial intelligence, education, gender studies, law, economics and history.
Specific topics of interest include: science and technology policies; open science; innovation policies and practices; intellectual property; digital technologies and artificial intelligence; digital platforms; regulation and supervision of the uses of digital technologies; human rights and digital technologies; innovative organizational studies and information management; political economy of information and communication; solidarity economy; environment and sustainable development.
After its first decade of existence, the journal obtained an A4 grade in the last published evaluation by Qualis Capes. During this period, we obtained the journal's indexing in the following databases: BRAPCI, Diadorim, DOAJ, Google Scholar, Latindex, Migulim and Redib. Work is being done to ensure that changes in editorial policies also make it possible for the journal to be indexed in major international databases.
The changes in the journal take place in a scenario of national and international crises and opportunities: social, economic and environmental. In Brazil, the first year of the Lula government signals the affirmation of social rights, political freedom, reduction of inequalities, resumption of economic development and environmental sustainability
In this time of change it is time to think, think rationally, make choices. The publication of the journal wants to permanently compose a panel of contributions for the critique of what is and the construction of what could become. We invite readers to follow the continued publication of articles in this issue, knowing that they will find more than just new material. These are original works that guide and stimulate critical thinking, discussing scenarios, conflicts, concepts and practices.
