Institutional memory of Colégio Agrícola Dom Agostinho Ikas at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco

This is a research study concerning institutional memory through the organization of photographs as a means of social dissemination for the institution. The research was carried out using a qualitative, documentary, and exploratory approach, conducted at the Colégio Agrícola Dom Agostinho Ikas (CODAI) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). The main objective was to analyze the photographs of the CODAI at UFRPE as artifacts of institutional memory. The primary findings are linked to the affirmation of the theory that regards photography as a tool for institutional memory within the field of Information Science. Empirically, the research facilitated the spreading of the memory of an educational institution with significant engagement in regional professional development. This highlighted the institution's societal role and the ways in which society acknowledges it, thereby reinforcing its significance in societal education and tracing its educational journey in Pernambuco and the city of São Lourenço da Mata.
