Beyond academic walls
the transfer of information in the light of open science

This is a descriptive research that aims to understand the impacts on the information transfer process in the context of Open Science. As a basis, it is used as a theoretical reference in the classics of Information Science to discuss characteristics, aspects and repercussions caused by the emergence of Open Science. The research shows that although the transfer of information is a human action, within the CA, the focus is not on the information itself, but on the data that generate this information, such as scientific data and/or research data with the purpose of making them open (open data). Thus, a relationship is created between the stages of information transfer highlighted by Shanom and Weaver (transmitter, channel, message, receiver) with the perspective of Open Science, highlighting the political, social, economic and scientific impacts.
