The disinformation poses a public health risk due to potential implications in the socioeconomic, political and cultural spheres. However, communication and information are the essential tools to help the responsible bodies to take more effective measures. In view of this, the COVID-19 pandemic has become a central topic of discussion in traditional and digital media around the world. Due to the overload of information helping to spread false news, this paper aims to analyze, through biopolitics, the use of disinformation by the “Shadow Cabinet” during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is assumed that the disinformation was spread through an internal organization that acted in parallel to the Ministry of Health. For methodological purposes, an essentially qualitative approach is adopted, based on bibliographic-documentary analysis. The research design is based on the case study method and is exploratory in nature. There is, therefore, the strengthening of scientific denialism due to the dissemination of misinformation articulated by the parallel office
