The Time Disputation

informational dialogue and history theory in the Zapatistamovement

  • The present article discus the “rebel documents”, made by the Zapatista indigenous in their territory, in southeastern Mexico, willing to denounce the fallacies of progress guided by the capitalist logic of accumulation and exploitation. In this sense, we approach a discussion from economic history and revolutionary praxis about time and the theory of history, emphasizing the critical encounter between an epistemological and practical-informational perspective. From unavoidable principles as human dignity, connection and respect for nature and the demand for freedom of subordinate peoples throughout history, learning about the Zapatista experience reactivates our hope for another time and a possible “other world”
