Growing concern about sustainability and the need to reduce carbon emissions have driven the search for renewable alternatives to traditional fossil fuels. In this context, ethanol produced from agro-industrial waste, especially fruit waste, has emerged as a promising solution for generating clean, renewable energy. Among these options, fruit waste biomass, which is widely available in tropical regions, stands out for its great potential for conversion into biofuels, contributing significantly to sustainable development and diversification of the energy matrix. The aim of this study is to carry out a bibliometric review of scientific production related to obtaining ethanol from pineapple waste, with an emphasis on identifying emerging trends, research gaps and areas of greatest relevance for the improvement and development of this technology. The review will be based on data extracted from the Scopus database, covering a total of 57 articles published between 2013 and 2023. Data analysis will be carried out using VOSviewer software, focusing on four main approaches: the annual analysis of the number of publications, author citations, co-authorship by country and the co-occurrence of keywords in the articles. The results will provide a comprehensive overview of pineapple ethanol research, highlighting the significant growth in the number of publications in recent years and pointing to avenues for future research and applications of this technology in the context of sustainable energy generation.
