Inovação, produtividade e sistemas de informação

Apresentam-se conceitos modernos sobre inovação, descrevendo-se as fases, tipos e condições para inovação. São apresentados os fatores que têm influência sobre a produtividade, ressaltando-se a preparação dos recursos humanos da organização e discutindo-se o papel do administrador como agente da motivação/produtividade. Analisa-se, detalhadamente, a importância da informação no mundo moderno e descreve-se a informação necessária para as diversas fases do processo de inovação. É apontada como essencial a atuação adequada do pessoal da área de informação neste processo. Citam-se as barreiras à inovação em instituições acadêmicas e discute-se o valor econômico das bibliotecas e sistemas de informação. Descrevem-se os resultados de estudos sobre inovação nesta área e oferecem-se sugestões para propiciar inovação no meio ambiente nacional de informação. Apresenta-se estudo propondo diretrizes para invenção de novos produtos de informação. Resumem-se diferentes abordagens para o estabelecimento de sistemas de informação eficientes e eficazes, concluindo-se com uma discussão sobre conhecimentos já aceitos e que podem contribuir para gerar produtividade/inovação em sistemas de informação, ressaltando-se, novamente, o papel do administrador do sistema.
Innovation, productivity and information systems
Abstract
Modern concepts of innovation are presented, with description of phases, types and conditions for innovations. Also presented some factors which can have influence on productivity, emphasizing the training of human resources and the role of the manager as an agent for motivation and productivity. A detailed analysis is made of the importance of information in the modern world, with description of the information necessary for the different phases of the innovation process. The adequate performance of the information personnel in this process in pointed out as essential. A mention is made of the barriers for innovation in academic institutions followed by a discussion on the economic value of libraries and information systems. The results of innovation studies in this area are reported with suggestions of measures to provide innovation in our national information products environment. A study proposing guidelines for the invention of new information products is described. Finally, two different approaches for the development of efficient and effective information systems are presented, concluding with a discussion of knowledge, already available which can contribute to motivate productivity/innovation in information systems, emphasizing again the role of the system manager.
