RESUMO O presente artigo tem por objetivo efetuar um levantamento dos pedidos de patente relativos ao setor têxtil, depositados e publicados no Brasil no período compreendido entre 1999 e 2009. A partir da base de dados construída, foi possível analisar os resultados obtidos, identificando os países e empresas que possuem interesse no mercado brasileiro, os produtos, processos e/ou equipamentos que podem se tornar inovações, bem como o estágio atual do setor têxtil em termos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento.

ABSTRACT This article aims to identify and map patent requests in the textile
sector, deposited and published in Brazil between 1999 and 2009. On this
database we analysed results showing countries and firms interested in the
Brazilian market; the products, processes and or equipment which may
constitute innovations; as well as the present status of the textile sector
in terms of reseach and development.
