Given the economic importance that the citrus sector has in Brazil, bibliometrics indicators have been used in this work to analyze the main characteristics of papers indexed in the Web of Science database. Through activity indicators, thematic specialization, impact, visibility and collaboration, we present the results published in the decade 2000-2010. Data show a notable growth in scientific production, especially in recent years, and can detect the most productive institutions, which are the universities of São Paulo. Besides the results obtained, the proposed methodology is one of the main contributions of this study.
