This paper has two main goals: 1) to present the "amateur" videos published by four webTVs (TV Estadão, O Globo Vídeos, TV ZH e TV O Tempo) during the protests in june 2013 in Brazil; and 2) to discuss if they can be considered "violent scenes" (Jost, 2007). First, we discuss the characteristics of the "amateur" videos and their use in convergent newsrooms. The empirical research presents how these videos about the protests were recorded and edited. In the conclusions, we highlight the diversity of the "amateur videos" and discuss the "violence" of the June Journeys scenes.
