The article reflects on the recent events in Egypt, taking Cairo as the main stage, relating to the fall of the Mubarak government after 30 years of dictatorship. The massive participation of the Egyptian population was only possible through the use of social media which, in a very short time, encouraged thousands of people to occupy the streets protesting against the abuses suffered over the years. The revolution happened without formal leaders prepared for or capable of giving the country a lasting democratic direction.
