RESUMO O artigo analisa a produção acadêmica contemporânea sobre o desenvolvimento dos newsgames no jornalismo digital. Através do método da revisão bibliográfica, sistematizamos as discussões dos principais pesquisadores internacionais, indicando os desafios editoriais dos jogos noticiosos e apontando as principais modalidades, categorias e tendências. Como conclusão, notamos que essa experiência contribui para aprimorar a compreensão do contexto amplo da notícia. Ao programar as possibilidades de interação no âmbito das regras do jogo, o newsgame pode promover graus avançados de interatividade, sem prejudicar o compromisso com a informação.

ABSTRACT This article analyses contemporary academic production on the development of NewsGames in digital journalism. Based on the literature review, the discussions of the major international researchers were systematized. This research indicates the editorials challenges of newsgames, pointing out their main forms, categories and trends. We note that newsgames help to enhance the understanding of the broader context of the news. When programming possibilities of interaction within their rules, games can promote advanced stages of interactivity without sacrificing the commitment to information.
