From panopticon to panspectron
a reflection on mediation power and materiality of information

This paper presents a reflection on the mechanisms of mediation and the materiality of existing information on power schemes focused on surveillance, discipline and control, based on the criticism of Foucault to panopticon and the disciplinary institutions of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and concepts of liquid surveillance, distribuited surveillance and panspectron, presented respectively by Bauman (2013), Bruno (2013) and Braman (2006b).
