In the context of the Citizen Innovation Labs it could be seen on many occasions how space is treated merely as a banal resource, only required to accommodate the community and their projects. Often there is no question of their conditions and attributes, and therefore a specific spacial design –a place. The space is itself an essential component of such a system, and can be the trigger to create or strengthen communities - on the basis of their governance - or establish itself as a reference project for further developments.
