ABSTRACT The article investigates the notion of algorithm debated in the field of cybernetics, especially in the recent studies on automation, considering the technicality problematic raised by Gilbert Simondon. The goal here is to reflect the algorithm in the culture of the technique and contribute to a critical debate in the field of information organization. Thus, instead of thinking of the algorithm as neutral and between optimisms or pessimisms, a villain or a savior, we propose to reflect its potential as a technical object capable of organizing the human-machine interaction.
