ABSTRACT This paper addresses the paradoxical construction condition of the Medical Physics (MP) field in Brazil through an analysis of scientific production. Therefore, the objective is to understand the state of art of Brazilian MP and the methodology was based on webscrapping and quantitative and qualitative analysis tools to collect and analyze data in public and open database that are reference in dissemination and technoscientific communication. The results point to the fact that the areas of medicine and physics produced in their overlap a field whose knowledge does not necessarily contribute to the consolidation of a supposed field or area independent of MP.
