Abstract

Session 3 addresses the conditions and circumstances of knowledge production both in its academic dimension, within universities, and in the perspective of artistic creation, through cultural products of wide circulation. The common thread of both reflections is the coloniality of knowledge, conceived as an unfolding of the notions of coloniality of being and power. Professor Nancy Sanchez Tarrago discusses the production of scientific knowledge in the Southern and Northern hemispheres and the implications of the processes of legitimation and valuation. Professor Giulia Crippa, in turn, analyzes two literary works, of Australian origin, adapted as audiovisual - The Fish Book by William Gould (Richard Flanagan) and Picnic at Hanging Rock (Joan Lindsay) – which allow us to perceive moments of deconstruction and critique of the memory and official history of coloniality
