Exploring the intersection of algorithms, social networks and inclusion of the Deaf person.

  • This article analyzes the role of algorithms in social networks in promoting the inclusion of deaf people, with a special focus on Facebook. Through an interdisciplinary approach, we investigate the intersection between algorithms, social networks and inclusion, highlighting the importance of accessibility, privacy and considering the needs of deaf people in the design and implementation of digital platforms. Based on a detailed review of literature and case studies, we examine how policies, practices and algorithms influence the experience and participation of the deaf community and Libras users. Furthermore, we discuss the ethical, social and linguistic implications of these dynamics, addressing issues such as algorithmic discrimination, transparency, digital exclusion and human rights. Finally, we suggest practical recommendations to promote greater inclusion and equity in the deaf user experience on social networks and beyond, contributing to a fairer and more accessible society for all.
