This article starts from a set of more than 46 thousand publications on TikTok associated with hashtags supporting former President Jair Bolsonaro and his main agendas, and analyzes how content related to anti-democratic demonstrations has repercussions on the platform. The central hypothesis suggests that the contingent of content inciting anti-democratic acts tends to increase at critical times for Bolsonarism. The results indicate that anti-democratic content, although rarely removed from the air, is shadowbanned by platform moderation. On the other hand, TikTok seems to value content associated with a comic tone, which may favor the dissemination of extremist speeches, camouflaged as anodyne jokes.
