INTELLIGENT CITIES AND DIGITAL FABRICATION:
Proposal for the implementation of a Fab-Lab in Maceió – AL.

This research aimed to present guidelines for a project proposal of a Fab Lab for the city of Maceió-AL. Methodologically, it is classified as applied, exploratory, and qualitative in approach. The research strategy was inspired by the Design Science Research method, which focuses on the production of projects and artifacts. There was a lack of a laboratory to promote digital fabrication in the city and to train the community more broadly, seeking to assist those who do not fit the participation requirements of existing laboratories. In view of this, the project proposal for a mobile Fab Lab was presented, meeting the criteria of location, audience reach and mobility of the proposal. As a conclusion of the research, it was verified that to improve the positioning of Maceió as a “intelligent city”, the technological training of its community is one of the ways to be followed.
