Abstract
Discussion about the impacts caused by lnformation technologies on libraries, specially those related to university libraries. Analysis of the following Information technologies: databanks and databases, CD-ROM, hypertext, multimídia, local area networks (LAN), Internet and Rede Nacional de Pesquisa (RNP), virtual library.
