Communication policies, technological innovation and new production and reception models
the Brazilian Digital TV System

The audiovisual sector, and particularly television, the most widespread means of communication in Brazil, has recently been the subject of several decisions regarding communication policies and the adoption of technological innovations towards the implementation of the Brazilian Digital Television System (SBTDV). The topic is complex and controversial in its various aspects, presenting a scenario in which many decisions are still being made for a system that will be officially inaugurated in December 2007.
