Cyber racism refers to the social interactions that occur between users or between users and content available on platforms and social networks that depend on Internet connectivity. Nowadays, we experience lives shaped by hyperconnectivity to platforms and social networks such as Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, platforms with social aspects that allow users to express their misogynistic, racist, homophobic, transphobic, fatphobic, and other discriminatory viewpoints in public comments. In light of the growing ease of encountering racist offenses on platforms and social networks, this paper aims to analyze the occurrence of cyber racism in environments such as Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram and link empirical observations with bibliographic references on race, racisms, and microaggressions, with the goal of highlighting the freedom with which discriminatory discourses are propagated by users in these digital environments.
