This work presents a brief summary of the life of the renowned author Fernando Claudio Prestes Motta, in addition to addressing his scientific production and his contribution to the study of Organization Theory. To this end, the names of some authors who influenced Prestes Motta were brought up, as well as comments from Brazilian authors regarding this important academic, who was considered one of the biggest names in Brazilian administration. To construct the work and consider the current relevance of his work in the area of Administration, the methodology used was a literature review, as well as the search for the term “Prestes Motta” in articles on the SPELL platform, considering the appearance of the descriptor term in the title of the document, in the abstract, in the keywords or as the cited author. At the end of the search, the focus was on the evolution of citations regarding Prestes Motta over the years 2017 to 2021 in articles present in the SPELL indexer. Therefore, a graph was created as a way of demonstrating the evolution of the author's number of citations during the period.
