Abstract

O espaço ocupado pela informação cientifica vem crescendo na imprensa brasileira, nos últimos anos. Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma análise de conteúdo feita nos jornais diários de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro, durante uma semana. Predominam ali as informações de origem nacional, procedentes de fontes variadas, como as sociedades científicas e as instituições governamentais. São matérias produzidas majorítariamente por jornalistas, assumindo portanto o caráter de difusão científica.

Scientific information in the Brazilian press: origin, source and authorship

Abstract

The space of scientific information has been increasing in the Brazilian press, in recent years. This article deals with data from a content analysis of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro daily newspapers. They strongly present national information, sent by several sources, such as scientific societies and government agencies. The majority of reports were procuced by journalists performing the function of scientific diffusion.
