Abstract

A Secretaria de Tecnologia Industrial (STI), através do Subprograma de Tecnologia Industrial Básica do Programa de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (PADCT), está fomentando a implantação da Rede de Núcleos de Informação Industrial. Prevista para atuar de forma descentralizada, porém coordenada, visa a estabelecer quatro Núcleos Básicos de Informação (NBTs), 15 Núcleos Setoriais de Informação (NSTs) e cinco Núcleos Regionais de Informação (NRI's). Caminhando para o seu terceiro ano de execução, o projeto já instalou efetivamente quatro NBTs, sete NSTs e dois NRTs, todos eles já prestando serviços de informação à indústria. Devido à falta de experiência brasileira com informação industrial, e à natureza dos problemas enfrentados, as ações têm tido um caráter predominantemente de treinamento e capacitação de recursos humanos. A curto prazo, espera-se contribuir para a abertura de um canal de diálogo entre os setores que geram e detêm a tecnologia industrial e o setor produtivo. A longo prazo, os benefícios maiores seriam o fortalecimento e desenvolvimento tecnológico das pequenas e médias empresas nacionais.

Industry in the role of user an information project which conquers spaces

Abstract

The Secretary of Industrial Technology (STI) is giving financial support for setting a national information Centre network through the Basic Industrial Technology Subprogram/Program to support the Scientific and Technological Development (PADCT). The network was planned for operating in a decentralized, but coordinated way, and aims to establish 4 Basic Information Centres (NBI), 15 Sectorial Information Centres (NSI), and 5 Regional Information Centres (ÑRI). In its third year of execution, the project has abready installed 4 NBI's, 7 NSI's and 2 NRI's, all of them effectively offering information services for industry. Due to lack of experience in Brazil in providing industrial information and also to the nature of the problems that the project is facing, the actions are focusing on the development and training of human resources. The short term objective is to contribute to the opening of a communication channel between the industrial sector and the scientific and technological world. The long term, benefits of a such project may be the technological development and the strengthening of the small and medium size enterprises.
