Estudos de usuários de bibliotecas: aproximação crítica

Baseado em sete dissertações de mestrado apresentadas aos diferentes cursos de pós-graduação de universidades brasileiras, este estudo analisa a abordagem epistemológica desses trabalhos acadêmicos. Evidencia também o caráter funcionalista que tem norteado os estudos de usuários de biblioteca. O autor aplica o método do materialismo dialético e mostra as contradições subjacentes que existem nessa área, as quais são ignoradas pela abordagem funcionalista.

Library's users studies: critical approach
Abstract
Based on seven Master Science dissertations presented to different post-graduation courses of Brazilian universities, the research analyses the epistemological approach of those academical works. The study also emphasizes the functionalist character that has oriented the library's users/studies. The author applies the dialetic materialism method and shows the subjacent contradictions being in this area, which are unknown by the functionalist approach.
