Apresenta, com base no levantamento da literatura, um panorama do uso do MicrolSIS em Instituições brasileiras, com ênfase nas organizações situadas no Estado de Santa Catarina. Salienta os fatores que mais contribuíram para o desenvolvimento do processo de automação em serviços bibliotecários concernentes ao uso do MicrolSIS. Enfatiza ainda a importância de se adotarem formatos de intercâmbio bibliográfico para o desenvolvimento de bases de dados, com o objetivo de integrá-las em sistemas de informação.

Libraries automation: the use of MicrolSIS
Abstract
The paper presents, based on a literature survey, an overview of the use of MicrolSIS in Brazilian institutions with emphasis on organizations situated in Santa Catarina State, Brazil. It points out the factors which have more contributed for the development of the automation process in library services concerning to the MicrolSIS use. The paper emphasizes further the importance in to follow formats of bibliographic interchange for the development of data base in order to integrate them in information systems.
