Análise do banco de dados do IBBD: atividades de pesquisa em química no Brasil, relativas a 1973

Análise descritiva de informações disponíveis no Banco de Dados do Instituto Brasileiro de Bibliografia e Documentação, a respeito de 264 pesquisadores principais envolvidos em pesquisas químicas no país, em 1973. Características de sexo, data de nascimento, cursos e dedicação ao ensino superior. Campos e sub-campos da Química em que demonstram mais interesse. Instituições onde desenvolvem as pesquisas e número de projetos em andamento. Análise de parte da literatura que produziram, com relação ao tipo, local e data de publicação, periódicos em que publicaram, autoria única ou múltipla.
Abstract
A sample of the literature cited by teachers of ICB/UFMG and journals articles published in the period of 1968 to 1973, was analysed according to the type of material, language, geographical origin, single and multiple authorship. The half life of the citations was determined and the research front was defined according to standards established by Price. The cited journals were analysed by subject, geographical origin and distributed by order of frequency of citations and compared to international lists in the field of the Biological Sciences. The dispersion of the literature among journals was analysed according to Bradford's law to establish the core of the more cited journals.
