Abstract
A selection of MIP's articles from 229 Brazilian Biomedical Journals revealed a distribution in accordance with the Bradford's Law. The 1977 authors of the MIP's articles were studied from the point of view of language, institution, indexing level, productivity and so on. The author's productivity seemed to present a similar settlement of Lotka 's Distribution (on the version modified by Price). The time interval since the article issue until its inclusion in the International Index wavered between two months and three years. However the majority of inclusions were placed around the 9th month after the issue of the indexed articles. The covering degree of the Brazilian articles in its highest level was presented by the Biological(From BIOSIS) with an amount of 75 per cent. The representativeness of the MIP's Brazilian articles regarding the International Biomedical Literature seemed to place oneself in 62.5 per cent of the issued papers in all international and national journals.
