Abstract

Considering the need for more effective legislation for the Brazilian population and the increasing availability of data and technological tools for analyzing large volumes of information, this article explores the use of Data Analysis as a method to support evidence-based legislative advisory. To illustrate this approach, a case study is presented, utilizing electoral data to analyze race and gender quota policies in the 2024 municipal elections. The study follows all stages of the Data Analysis process, and the results provide quantitative answers to the project's initial questions. The findings suggest that Data Science can be a valuable tool for legislative advisory, enabling more informed and evidence-based policymaking.
