This paper proposes to analyze journalism within the specific focus of the Culture Wars, using a qualitative methodology based on documental and bibliographical research. Its purpose is to examine contemporary journalism in the face of the polarization of public debate, demystifying some conceptions in the field and proposing a typology of journalism in the analyzed context. We present an analytical framework to categorize approaches and perspectives present in contemporary news production, fostering critical analysis and allowing a better understanding of the cultural and ideological dynamics that shape the presentation and consumption of information in the public sphere. Another issue of discussion is the role of fact-checking agencies in investigating fake news. The result demonstrates that journalism faces many difficulties, not only to update the business model, but also to retain credibility in a polarized scenario
