Brazil has put forward mechanisms aiming to increase governmental transparency, particularly with the establishment of federal standard 12.527/2012 – Lei de Acesso à Informação (LAI). Although such mechanisms could be taken as an improvement, it is necessary to consider if these effectively
promote transparency in the context where the mentioned standard is in place. This article proposes to check for data transparency on Sustainable Public Procurement in the State of São Paulo, particularly as to timber extracted from the Amazon.
