This article seeks to link the growing distribution of computational power and the contemporary informational explosion as driving forces towards decentralising laboratory experience. We thus investigate the occidental mindset, that is, the western tendency to privilege processes tending towards the abstraction, universalization, formalization and dessubstancialization of experience, pointing to systemic thinking as the guiding paradigm of contemporary society. We conclude that the intensive use of routine computing power contributes to the construction of new decentralized laboratory experiences.
