This research aims to discuss the challenges and skills necessary for information professionals in mediating information with generation Z. For this work, a qualitative-exploratory study and bibliographic research were carried out based on a systematic review of the literature in the BRAPCI database. The research results indicate that the challenges faced by professionals are linked to the domain of technology and the Internet, not only for the search for knowledge, but above all to enhance information competence and guide information subjects in the search for information. In relation to the necessary skills, informational, technological, media and relationship skills stand out so that the information professional can carry out information mediation, based on the understanding of the mediation process that involves the active action of both the professional and the subject informational.
