Os colégios virtuais e a nova configuração da comunicação científica

Abstract

Discute as mudanças nos modelos de comunicação formal e informal provocadas pelas tecnologias de informação e comunicação e, em particular, o conceito em formação de colégios virtuais, apresentados muitas vezes como sucedâneos dos colégios invisíveis. Revê o papel reservado à internet no novo cenário, tanto como canal de comunicação quanto como repositório de informações, e apresenta elementos para uma discussão sobre o novo modelo de comunicação científica via rede tendo em vista as discussões sobre acesso gratuito aos periódicos eletrônicos. Conclui atestando o ressurgimento da comunicação científica, suas novas ferramentas e possibilidades interativas ou de interação, como campo complexo de investigação, o qual exige novos estudos com o fim de verificar onde e como se dão as novas confluências.

The new colleges and the configuration of scientific communication

Abstract

Discuss the changes in the models of formal and informal communication provoked by communication and information technologies and, in particular, the concept in evolution of virtual colleges, presented many times as substitutes of invisible colleges. Reviews the role of internet in the new scene, as much as communication channel as a repository of information, and presents elements for a debate on the new model of scientific communication regarding the debates on free access of electronic journals. Concludes certifying the resurrection of the scientific communication, its new tools and interactive or interaction possibilities, as a complex field of research, which demands new studies with the purpose of verify where and how the new confluences happens.
