Innovations related to Artificial Intelligence tools are gaining increasing prominence in various societal contexts. In the academic and scientific community, there is a significant increase in the use of chatbots, tools developed from the constant evolution of techniques and technologies that characterize Generative Artificial Intelligence. In this context, reflections on the emerging concept in the field of Information Science called Informational Intentionality and Generative Artificial Intelligence tools can be relevant to studies in the area. This concept raises discussions about the non-neutrality of both humans and technology and the impacts regarding the mutual impact relationships through which humans shape the functionalities of machines based on their cognitive background, and technologies, consequently, impact human actions and perceptions. Thus, this research aims to analyze the performance of the DeepSeek tool in the academic and scientific context and establish conceptual reflections between Informational Intentionality and Generative Artificial Intelligence. The methodology adopted is exploratory, qualitative, and descriptive in nature, using direct observation and practical application of DeepSeek in optimizing bibliographic surveys, specifically in filtering and organizing large volumes of data. The results indicate that although these tools can significantly reduce research time and contribute to different parts of the process, in general, it is important that they be used in conjunction with other types of tools and always as an ally to the work, not as a substitute. This is because their constant use can have negative impacts on the development of critical thinking and autonomous learning among information subjects. In conclusion, it is understood that the use of chatbots in the academic-scientific environment demands digital literacy and an attentive stance against misinformation, as well as more in-depth discussions about machine learning, which is increasingly detached from human interaction.
