This article presents a bibliographic review on the theme of Museums, heritage and museum education, bringing a collection of scientific articles in order to discuss museums and science from the perspective of the field and the challenges in the Anthropocene, a more recent period of big global transformations. The chosen texts that make up this literature review deal with subjects such as educational practices in museums, science and art, cultural heritage, historical awareness, technology and innovation applied to museums. From the readings, it was possible to observe a growing interest in studies involving the theme of museums and related themes as heritage, especially with regard to new proposals or innovative proposals that give museums with the use of technologies an important role in the learning process of society as a whole. With the emergence of the pandemic in 2021, the search for new practices of access to museums and awareness of the actions and responsibilities that people have about the present and future in relation to environmental, political, social, economic and cultural issues are made even more necessary
