The present study aims to investigate the role of the solidarity economy for female autonomy in the Association of Colonies. With this approach, women have been gaining their space in the Association, through the Community Kitchen Project, where they manufacture processed and bakery products; this achievement will also occur in financial independence; where they no longer depend exclusively on their husband. It is essential that the solidarity economy is related to rural development and family farming so that together they can, in a certain way, work for the common good of all. The Association of Colonies supplies fresh and processed products to the Municipal Department of Education in the city of Castro – PR, meeting the requirements of the Federal Government's Public Policy programs, the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) and the National School Meal Program (PNAE). The methodology used in this work is applied, from the point of view of its nature; qualitative and quantitative, regarding the problem; exploratory and descriptive, regarding objectives; survey, regarding technical procedures. As a result, it was verified that in the Association of Colonies, women gained their autonomy through the work they carry out, the manufacture of processed and bakery products. By way of conclusion, one of the main points of the Federal Government's public policy programs – PAA and PNAE – for the Association of Colonies in the city of Castro – PR was the integration between the community, family farming and the various government and social segments.
