The ability of organizations to put into practice continuous innovation is directly linked to their response in mobilizing the existing knowledge aiming at organizational learning. This article aims to answer the following question, by means of a bibliometric study: what is the most commonly used technique for extracting knowledge from business process modeling? The bibliometric analysis made it possible to establish relevant associations between the most cited authors, the most relevant papers, the main sources, as well as the countries with the greatest contributions in publications, and the main methods used. The sample included 91 studies from 65 sources, published in the scientific platforms Scopus and Web of Science. Since 2004 there has been an increase in bibliographic production, especially in countries like China, United States and Germany, being 2011 and 2014 the most productive years, characterizing the proposed theme as relatively new in scientific literature, with the possibility of future work involving a more comprehensive bibliometric analysis, through the inclusion of new metrics and other scientific databases, as well as a systematic literature review addressing the extraction of knowledge in organizations and services, based on business process modeling.
