Collective hunger, extreme poverty, increasing inequalities, economic, political and social insecurity, loss of biodiversity, acidification of the oceans, scarcity of safe water, global warming. The challenges of this time are on the table and urge new paths that are capable of overcoming the logic of social exclusion and severe environmental degradation resulting from the current economic model. Focusing on the call that Pope Francis makes to the young people of the world to rethink the economy of the present and to project the economy of tomorrow, this paper aims to present the motivations and principles that guide the proposal made by the pontiff, called the Economy of Francisco, as well as exposing how Brazilian youths are dialoguing with this call.
