RESUMO Este artigo traça um breve quadro do contexto político em que emergiram as manifestações de junho de 2013 no Brasil e aponta a relevância da questão do cotidiano para uma análise mais abrangente. Concentra-se na discussão sobre o papel da internet na mobilização da população e na atuação de grupos de midiativistas que surgiram ou se consolidaram nesse período. Critica a perspectiva da “ação direta”, reitera a importância da mediação jornalística para o esclarecimento do público e a necessidade da abertura ao contraditório para o convívio democrático.

ABSTRACT This article provides a brief background of the political context in which the events of June 2013 emerged in Brazil and highlights the relevance of the question of everyday life for a more comprehensive analysis. It focuses the discussion on the role of internet in mobilizing the population and the activity of midiactivists groups which have arisen or been consolidated in this period. It also criticizes the prospect of "direct action", and reiterates the importance of journalistic mediation to inform the public and the need for openness to contradictory points of view to build a democratic society.
